Corporate History

1961 Company established in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo with investment by the Tokyu Group centered on Tokyu Corporation. Noboru Goto appointed first President.
Offices opened in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.
1962 Sapporo Office opened.
1970 Head Office moved to Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
TV commercial production company CAT Inc. established.
Cooperates in pavilion and other operations on the occasion of the Japan World Exposition.
1971 Japan Cable Television Inc. established through joint capital investment with Asahi National Broadcasting Co., Ltd. and The Asahi Shimbun Company.
1975 Orion Kikaku Co., Ltd. renamed Hansoku Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. and adopted as a subsidiary.
1981 Image Studio 109 Inc. established in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, and service provision by the new studio initiated.
1984 Publishing Division established and publishing business initiated.
1985 Tokyu Space Creation Inc. established to conduct business specializing in airport media.
Tokyu Agency cooperates in organization of the 1st Tokyo International Film Festival (Shibuya, Tokyo).
Cooperates in organization of Tsukuba Expo '85 in Tsukuba Science City.
1987 Quick Purchase Report (QPR) research system established in collaboration with Tokyu Research Institute, Inc. and sales of the system initiated.
1989 Cooperates in organization of the 2nd Nenrinpic.
1990 Cooperates in organization of the International Garden and Greenery Exposition, Osaka.
1992 Cooperates in organization of the Sevilla Expo in Spain and the Genoa Expo in Italy.
Participates in the New Chitose Airport Terminal Building as project designer and construction company.
1998 Cooperates in organization of the Lisbon Expo in Portugal.
2002 ISO14001 certification acquired for all Head Office divisions.
2003 Business cooperation agreement signed with DDB Worldwide Communications Group.
2005 Participates in the Central Japan International Airport terminal building project as commercial facilities consultant, interior design supervisor, brand builder and sales promotion agent.
Cooperates in event production on the occasion of the Expo 2005 Aichi Japan.
BS7799 and ISMS Appropriateness Evaluation System certification acquired for the Tokyo Head Office and all divisions in the Akasaka area.
2006 Presentcast Inc. established through joint capital investment.
ISO/JIS Q 27001 certification acquired for all departments located in Akasaka of our Tokyo Head Office.
2007 Signed a business cooperation agreement with JPS, a GIS marketing consulting company in the field of trade area marketing.
QPR, our proprietary purchase report survey was redesigned to reflect consumer survey service through hand-held bar cord scanner system.
2008 Signed a business cooperation agreement with Infront Inc., a medical and healthcare agency.
Signed a business cooperation agreement for capital participation with Media Flag, a retail store marketing company.
2010 Subsidiaries TA Promotion Net Inc., CAT Inc. and the graphic advertising production division of Image Studio 109 Inc. were integrated to form Tokyu Agency Pro-mix Inc.
